(Fox Weekly) — After failing to find big success in the U.S. version of The X Factor, Simon Cowell has moved on to the Latin American community. The only act to achieve a successful music career after The X Factor USA, is Fifth Harmony. Simon has partnered up with Univision to launch the new TV show ‘La Banda’.
Simon hopes to find the new Latin boy band, or simply the next Latin version of One Direction. The show is expected to launch in 2015 via Univision. The winning act will receive a recording contract with Sony Music Latin. The value of the contact has yet to be revealed.
There are already talks about possible judges, including the addition of Paulina Rubio and Ricky Martin to the panel.
Simon Cowell created the international sensation known as One Direction from The X Factor UK and 1D is now the most famous band in the world. Simon is also the man behind Cher Lloyd, Little Mix, Leona Lewis, Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Fifth Harmony.
