We’ve all dreamt of winning the lottery at some point throughout our lives, and many of us are still on the lottery train. Realistically, there’s only going to be one jackpot winner – and it probably isn’t going to be you. That doesn’t stop me from buying a ticket every single week, because you never know. What’s the harm in throwing a few dollars at the lottery every single draw? If you ever managed to strike it big, one of the things that rubs people the wrong way is all of the publicity that comes along with it. You have to go and accept the massive check, as well as have your name put out there. This means that the news can spread rather quickly, when in most cases, you don’t want anybody to know that you’ve won some money. Texas is already a place that is fantastic for the wealthy, as you don’t need to pay any income tax – I guess that’s why they felt like allowing lottery winners to remain anonymous made sense.
When you win the lottery, there is a lot of baggage that comes along with it. Texas has been passing many different laws as of recent, some of which would include making guns cheaper to carry. The Senate Bill 16 law offers up a cheaper first-time licensing fee for handguns, so those that are interested in personal defense will be able to approach it in an easier manner. It used to cost $140 USD, but the fee has been dropped down to $40. Not only that, but the renewal fee for this license has been dropped down to $40 (it was $70 beforehand). It goes into effect on September 1st, and would make Texas the region with the lowest first-time licensing fees in the country.
The law that allows lottery winners to remain anonymous also goes into effect on the 1st of September, so if you want to maintain your privacy, try not to win before then! It won’t be the toughest thing to go through with, I’m sure – if you do happen to win, I’m sure remaining anonymous won’t be too much of a hassle. The most you’ll need to worry about are a few friends and family members asking you for money to start up a business. Remain strong! The lottery is easy come and easy go, especially when dealing with large sums of money. Don’t go out a blow it all on a Ferrari, try and pace yourself. I personally don’t know what I would do with a jackpot win, because the amount of money you would receive in Texas is simply amazing. There wouldn’t be any taxes taken out! Can you imagine winning 50 million dollars, and then proceeding to receive every single cent of it? Mouth-watering material, to say the least.
