For the past decade, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been our OTP. The golden couple we’ve all heard of and every single one of us was devastated when Brangelina split up. After a long silence on the subject, Brad Pitt sat down with GQ Style this May and spoke quite candidly about the split and it seems like finally Angelina is ready to let us all know her side of the story, coming out in the September’s issue of Vanity Fair.
When she was asked about whether she was surprised with Pitt’s interview, Jolie simply said “no.”
The interview took place in Angelina’s new Los Feliz mansion in LA, the first permanent home she has had since the split. The mansion in itself was a big step in the healing process of her family. She said;
“It’s just been the hardest time, and we’re just kind of coming up for air. [This house] is a big jump forward for us, and we’re all trying to do our best to heal our family.”
Angelina also talked about her present relationship with Brad Pitt and she said;
“We care for each other and care about our family, and we are both working towards the same goal.”
Also, their glam lifestyles and being in the spotlight were not contributing factors in the couple going separate ways, according to Angelina.
“Our lifestyle was not in any way a negative. That was not the problem. That is and will remain one of the wonderful opportunities we are able to give our children… They’re six very strong-minded, thoughtful, worldly individuals. I’m very proud of them.”
For now, Angelina’s top most priority is her family and making sure that her kids are okay.
“I was very worried about my mother, growing up—a lot. I do not want my children to be worried about me. I think it’s very important to cry in the shower and not in front of them. They need to know that everything’s going to be all right even when you’re not sure it is… I’ve been trying for nine months to be really good at just being a homemaker and picking up dog poop and cleaning dishes and reading bedtime stories. And I’m getting better at all three. But now I need to get my boots on and go hang, take a trip.”
The full interview can be seen here in which among other things, her upcoming Netflix movie First They Killed My Father, her present routine of being a mom and rebuilding her relationship with her father, Jon Voight can be spotted.
