The one thing Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie agreed on related to their very public 2016 breakup
“The whole family needs to heal,” according to a source “Thankfully both parents are committed to making sure that happens.”
The power couple who got married in 2014 after being in a relationship for years on request of their sex children, decided to part ways in September 2016.
Angelina talked a bit about their divorce while she was promoting Netflix’s First They Killed MY Father few months back. The first substantial interview was granted by Brad though.
Brad spoke about the failure of his second marriage although he was pretty careful not to defame his ex-wife.
The reporter asked Angelina whether his interview and her reply was negative. She looked quite unmoved according to the writer Evgenia Peretz. Sources also reported that their communication has improved.
“We care for each other and care about our family,” she offers, “and we are both working towards the same goal.”
Brad didn’t comment on the actress’ Vanity Fair profile. The article involves their children in a way which the actor approves of.
“Brad has consistently refused to ever discuss anything about [the kids] publicly,” a source says. “He has not and will not ever discuss them.”
Brad was interviewed solo on the other hand, Angelina introduced some of her children to Evgenia.
Moreover, brad wasn’t aware of what would be written in the article before it got published.
Previously he was linked to Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller since his split from Angie. He said he isn’t dating any one at the moment “but he will at some point.”
According to another source, Brad
“knew Angelina would be giving an interview at some point.” It’s no secret that everyone in the family is in therapy, “and he feels the same way she does—that they are working toward the same goal. Brad is totally on board with trying to mend the family and heal.” The summary is, the actor is “doing OK” since the split. “He is in individual therapy and therapy with the kids. He sees them a few times a week. He is gearing up to start Ad Astra filming and has been at production meetings and getting everything going with that. He hangs out with his guy friends a lot and is trying to keep busy with his art and love of music.”
The interesting part is Brad mentioned Angelina’s name only once in his GQ style interview. During which he praised he latest movie set in Cambodia.
“You should see Angie’s film,” he told writer Michael Paterniti.
Apart from this, he talked about how the split has influenced him.
“I just started therapy. I love it,” he revealed. “I love it. I went through two therapists to get to the right one.”
The 53-year-old actor also talked about his own shortcomings. He stated that he and his ex-wife have shared notion about putting “family first,” no matter what. “Kids are so delicate,” Brad explained. “They absorb everything. They need to have their hand held and things explained. They need to be listened to. When I get in that busy work mode, I’m not hearing. I want to be better at that.”
