New season means new styles and new standards of beauty— those were the days when everyone had sharply plucked eyebrows and skin like a baked potato (Hint Hint Paris Hilton 2014).

Throughout the runway shows in 2017 since now have been swarmed with models with slick back hair and clean skin with natural eyebrows. The looks which completely stood out were bright and bold. Shimmer was added in the form of glitter by Fendi and DKNY. These fashion shows also were a throwback to the eighties, a window to the bubbly souls of the early 90s. as for hair Guido Palau is mainly responsible for creating the most dramatic looks for the runway.

Throwback to the 80’s

The eighties throwback surely made a mark on the runways in 2017. The depiction ranged from subtle hints to full blown 80s stampede. Bright lipsticks and blush was applied to the temples at Chanel, Adam Selman and Kenzo.

Topshop Unique adopted the side-swept curls and colour-pop eyelids were the highlight at Nina Ricci, mainly inspired by Bruce Weber’s photographs from the 80s.

Metallic eye make-up to colored dreadlocks were the rave at Marc Jacobs.

It’s about time you pick out the brightest pigment at any cosmetic store!

Braids, Braids, Braids!

Roberto Cavalli exhibited skinny braids on pretty hippies in countless variations in spring/Summer catwalks.

For a romantic feeling, Valention has the perfect fairytale-length braids. For a tomboy Dior has plaited buns. If you want to go eighties retro then Simone Rocha has perfect perky pigtails. Kenzo is also exhibiting looped braids. Guido Palau said

“there’s a plait to suit everyone”.

 Forget Smoky, Adopt Smudgy

Forget about the smoky eyes, smudgy eyes are the trend this summer. Balmain and Altuzarra applied MAC studio Eye gloss over the traditional black liner to increase the smudge effect.

Don’t worry about drawing a neat line, I wouldn’t.

Clean and Glowing Skin

Makeup or no make-up, for sure the no make-up look is the rave backstage.

Since Alicia Keys decided to adorn make-up free face throughout the media and Kim Kardashian wore no makeup while being on the Balenciaga’s front row, this became a running trend.

Michael Kors used make up just to cover blemishes.

Guido is a fashion mentor; he isn’t a trend setter but he makes them happen. He turned several model’s careers by just snipping their locks with his magical hands.

This season he worked his magic on the runways more than ever. From surfer-style beauty to choppy blonde at Alexander Wang at the bangs at Gucci. He successfully convinced the models to let him bleach their hair. There were some sideburns at Christopher Kane.

Glitter is the way to GO!

Why should you me or anyone hold back on glitter? The catwalks were swarmed with glitter and shimmer in its full glory. Fendi and DKNY had glittery lips, glittered nails were a thing at Rodarte. Don’t forget Glitter eyeshadows at Marc Jacobs. This is the best time to showcase your own creativity, remember there was glitter on men’s beards a while back!
