Greatest American Athletes August 1, 2017Leave a comment

This is not a list of the greatest athletes of all time, despite the fact that most of the athletes on the listing may have been great individuals. This is a list of the greatest athletes which begs the question, what makes someone a great athlete. For this listing, athletic greatness is described as possessing a variety of attributes that contribute to athletic skill. These include speed, quickness, endurance, and potential. That is why this listing does not include specialized athletes such as marathon runners or racers. While it is clear that Lance Armstrong is a professional in his field, he has not proven that he could compete in other sports where more is needed than pumping his thighs for hours on end.

Michael Jordan

The birth name Michael Jeffrey Jordan, also known as, MJ, is an American retired professional basketball player.

There may be a very few people that could keep up athletically with MJ (Bo Jackson, Carl Lewis and other). But there is no one- NO ONE-who has ever possessed all of these potential qualities to the level that Jordan did. The Greatest Athlete that ever lived. To be steady throughout his career is just amazing. And let’s not forget the fact that he was the number one player for 237 weeks consecutively. The fact that he was defeated after that did not stop him from setting back the top rank record as he regained the position from Rafael Nadal and won a total record of 285 weeks overall.

He is not only one of the best sportsmen, but also the most respectful of all. He is genuine, humble, zealous, committed, consistent and passionate.

Roger is absolutely The Best. Both character and as a Tennis Player. He has the techniques to play tennis. He is my pick. Djokovic and Nadal are behind him.

I think Messi should be the world’s greatest athlete for the moment. He has a balance of all footballers rated above him, and he’s yet to bring out his best. His speediness, accuracy, and skills and score are 1 of the best seen so far. Including, his non-arrogant attitude places him at his best.

  • He’s fast, skilled, and at the top of the game.
  • Messi does not deserve to be out of the top 10
