Fashion Week was in full swing along Park Avenue in Winter Park this evening. I didn’t make it to the bash at the Gary Lambert Salon — the salon that will be styling the models for Saturday evening major runway show that wraps up Fashion Week.
Robin Bilderback, Jillian Polachek
But I did stop in at a number of other events. The balmy evening weather is just perfect to party-hopping along the Avenue — and revelers certainly were out in force. I got the feeling the weekend definitely begins on Thursday!
At Thread, a team of makeup artists from the M.A.C studio in the Mall at Millenia had been working their magic on clients since noon — and were booked through 9 p.m. Those waiting for their turn were browing and shoppping though all the special merchandise brought in for Fashion Week. Can’t wait to see some of it on the runway.
Lori Mirisola
A couple of stores away at SEE, fashionistas were having a grand time trying on the very latest in eyewear. they also were marveling at the creative works by Longwood artist Lori Mirisola, who uses masaic techniques to decorate stiletto shoes — which she then transforms into decor items, jewelry holders, trays and mirors. Hard t explain — so take a look at the picture.
Jenn Fenton
Across the street at Liz’s, handbags were the main draw. And at Tuni, local jewelry designer Jenn Fenton was introducing her latest collection of necklaces. Most feature pearls and an eclectic mix of chains and vintage found objects. This season’s collection is “very ladylike,” she says.
And finally, on to the party hosted by Craig DeLongy at John Craig, the upscale men’s clothier, and adjacent trendy Current.
Erika Nelson, ‘Runway Diva’ Shay, Roxanna Malidelis
On tap were Winter Park’s signature peacock martinis, wines, Peroni beer, sliders and pizza from Luma … and cigars. As well as a bevy of long-legged models showing off shirts from the very attractive Stone Rose line.
Tina DeLear, Robert Kellom, Lola Monre
The hidden courtyard behind John Craig and Current makes a terrific al fresco party venue.
So, one final round of trunk shows, designer appearances and parties Friday — then on to Saturday’s BIG NIGHT. If you still haven’t bought your tickets for the tented runway show, there’s time: Just got to www.parkavenuefashionweek.com and place your order. you won’t be disappointed. Guaranteed!
